They look so good,Johnjoe..Apple Pie is a favourite here too..I sometimes add a few raspberries to mine,for a change :o)

Yes,I have uses Blackberries too,Johnjoe..you don't need too many,of either B,berries or Raspberries,because of the juice..not nice having a soggy bottom ! Lol I put mine between two layers of Apple..very nice :o)

That's what Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood look for on The Great British Bake off ..a soggy bottom,and you are out ! Lol..another little tip,Johnjoe..sprinkle a little Cornflour on the pastry base,which stops the juice soaking through the pastry..another cause of a soggy bottom ..ha ha..

They look delicious JJ. We love apple pie with cream, evaporated milk, ice cream or just on it's own. I haven't made any yet to freeze. There are some apples still on the trees but I have loads sliced up in the freezer already. I Will definitely be getting T to bring some down today and we shall have apple pie for tea. I will try freezing some too now you say they freeze well. Thankyou.

Up to now I've had to make pastry each time and defrost the apples. Ready made pies I can get out the night before or first thing in the morning is great. 2 in the freezer so far. ?

They look great and very tasty well done you can't beat the taste of home made and home grown apple pies. I hope there is piece for the little fellow the helper he has to learn from the chief taster ?
