From seeds? Nice patch. Mine were stripped by slugs. For change.

These were purchased as plugs from a nursery. Sorry to hear about yours, the slugs don't seem to like mine.

Do you have much slugs in your garden Bathgate?

Honestly I don't see them but I'm sure they are there. With all the birds around - mockingbirds, robins, finches, bluejays, they probably don't have a very long existence. I see plenty of empty snail shells laying around. I'm sure slugs suffer the same fate. My birds always look well fed too.
