LOL! same here! I had the big black, white and yellow orb spiders in my other garden... haven't seen any of those here yet. Their webs were so huge that it was possible to get a web in the face if she chose to weave between trees!

I walk through webs in the morning in the tunnel at this time of year. I watched one rolling up a fly like a hobbit the other day. Soo clever.

Food storage! LOL... Have seen four large brown and taupe coloured spiders this year, (in different places in the yard), they spin leaves into their webs and in size they're about the size (radius) of a lime! very long legs and hairy looking. Could be a wolf spider, I suppose but I'm not really up on my spiders! Have seen dark brown and black but never this lighter brown colour. Will make sure to get a pic of one. They're a bit frightening because they're quite large in comparison to most other spiders I see.

We get massive ones in the house in September...I don't mind them as long as they keep arms length away from me. Oh screams like a girl though when he sees one!
