Some of my hostas are getting leaf scald in the drought. These hostas are planted in a little nook by the kitchen steps..snug in with geranium, chelone, ferns, and campanula..all in very close quarters. Is it the salt/ocean air that they don't like, or do you have turf wars of roving bands of slugs and snails?

The slugs and snails Lori....hundreds of them...getting fatter buy the day!

I tend to just grow things they don't like.. Although I have waged a mini war growin daliahs for the wedding this year

things they don't like? share please. LOL....probably the only reason I'm not waging war on them is because it's too dry!

Most of my garden is planted with trees and shrubs..I lust after perennial borders full of flowers but it's that wet here those slugs would have a party!

What a mind picture... a slug party. ;-) You're so inventive... how could you alter a small part of garden to satisfy your craving for perennials? You've used netting to cut down wind damage... maybe a half-greenhouse to deflect most of the rain? You've probably covered all this before... comes down to a slug party? ah well.
