Triangle Palm (Dypsis decaryi)

This is one of two Triangle palms growing on this property. It's a very common palm here because of its drought-tolerance. The other Triangle palm is mixed with two King palms, they're too close together. This palm is a prima donna it need to be planted alone or in rows to its best in the landscape. Photo taken in San Diego, CA. on June 28, 2016.

This prima Donna looks great by itself. I did see them planted in row and it looks neat.

Yes, they really do look good as a focal point tree. I have several small ones. I want to put one into the ground. I'll just have to find a spot.

I need to take a photo of the top of a small one to show how they grow in three ranks, which looks like a triangle, hence the common name.

Yes, this grows in three ranks and the there's one that grows here as a two ranked it looks flat Wallichia disticha (Wallich's palm). It grows like Giant bird-of-paradise (Strelizia nicolai) or Traveler's Palm (Ravenela madagascariensis) both grow here, also.
