As a kid,I grew up in Oakland Ca..one of the finest Fuchsia climates in the northern hemisphere. It seemed like every home had this variety- or very similar- and we would pick flowers and throw them all around. My sister said they had sweet nectar..I never bothered!
I know those berries put a short term stain on many a sidewalk.

This is a small plant. It doesn't always have berries. I usually cut them off and throw them in the bin :)
