Pseudobombax ellipticum. (Pseudobombax ellipticum)

Sort of a Japanese maple of the tropical world. Leaves turn green later and are Horse chestnut like.

Wow! It looks great! They need a lot of heat. I've seen how hot it's been up there. It's been so cool here...I love it! :>). It's forecasted to get extremely hot this week and weekend. I'm not looking forward to it.

Same here. Our third soucal summer in a row. I dont mind..hee.
Could be worse Andy if you lived farther inland. I see heat warnings started SUNDAY..and its only going to get red hotter..95f to 120f.
How do millions of people live where its a common 115?..90's for a low?
The heat stroke deaths in numbers must be incredible.

Yes, it's suppose to get to 105ºF in inland San Diego. and in Borrego Springs 122ºF!!! (in far eastern San Diego County). It's only suppose to get to 85ºF on the coast.

The meteorologists here expect there to be heat advisories and excessive heat warnings all over southern California.
