Ti Plant...getting ready to flower. (Cordyline terminalis (Dracaena))

Another first. Usually they dont even live through a winter. The last two winters have allowed this one to mature.
"Red Sister"...but I notice a few are called that.

It's looks good! Mine already bloomed a few months ago. They never set seed, though. I think it's because of the drought.

This I was told is a variety called "Aunty Lou". Sure enough,on the internet-the first pic looked identical to my plant.
76f today Andy. Its just crazy that everything is green- with summer like temps.

Yes, it's been very warm here, lately. February is now officially the hottest on record for San Diego.

It's suppose to change by Sunday, though. Finally, we're suppose to get some rain! Hurray! :>))

Since I took this photo? ALL four of the stems on this plant are sending up flowerstalks....while shedding a huge amount of leafs.
I imagine the winter's worn leafs are getting shed for both the flowering and a new flush in a few weeks.

That's strange, that it's shedding so many leaves. My red ti plants in the Bay Area never would shed a lot of leaves. The only problem I had was snails! They loved to eat the leaves! Here I have the same problem.

Every year- somethings different with the tropicals here. Last year's December was colder then 2015...but those Ti's never shed much,if any. This year,I think the cool- then summer like February was a shock. Maybe why the crotons called it a day too. cold- hot in Feb.

POURING last night Andy- like a pineapple express. Just gobs of heavy rain. If it had been during the day what great photos it would have made.

Yes, that what happens when the weather changes...and it's getting warmer there.

We only had a little rain (.10 of an inch) here this morning. Tomorrow we're suppose to get the big storm. I hope it shows up! I need my empty rain barrels to be filled.
