Thanks Andrew, now I know how much room to give it, can it be pruned hard if needs be?

You prune it like other ribes, cutting out the flowering wood. This plant is seven years old, and I intend to reduce the spread this year. PS - it's quite thorny!

Just received my plant....it is all of 6ins tall!! more like a cutting!! no use whatsoever..lol

Oh dear :( Who did you buy it from? I've just checked but I don't have any to sell this year.
