Mine is on the boundary fence so doesn't have to be restricted. It's been there quite a few years now (6 or 7) & hasn't gone crazy.

This photo is of "Hydrangea petiolaris" in Green_finger's garden
I do like these but you need to be careful where you plant them we planted one over our cottage porch at our last house it nearly swamped the porch :-0
