I had a bit of a Eureka moment with mine,when they started to grow this year..I had two of those tall tubular plant supports,which were made redundant,when my Delphiniums failed to show ..so I thought I'd give them a try,and I'm delighted how they have grown through them,and are upright ..no more tying them to a Pyracantha branch on the wall,or tying them to canes..or getting scratched to death ! They look far more natural too..

I planted some for this year...no flowers yet though...

Very pretty area of your garden. The supports are safer than canes. Canes should have an end put on them so you can't damage yourself.
