This tall plant lost all it leaves this summer. Now, it looks like it's starting to come back. Not sure if it's to the end of its life or not (or due to the severe drought here).

I hope it survives.

It's putting out some side branches. I'll let it go for a year and see what happens. I planted several seedling from seed from this plant. I've posted pics of the smaller plants which were planted in the ground late July and are now more than 4' tall.
