Whats interesting about the plant native to higher elevations in Mexico among the pines is the plant itself resembles a pinecone.
A Pinecone with wiry leaves. So,i can see how it would be invisible up in a tree until the fantastic bloom it throws out makes it stand out.

Yep,that's the warmer moister climate down there even if there are Oaks and Pines and rolling hills of Oak woodlands reminiscent of the bay area.
The Tillandsia's can take weeks of drought but not all summer as our climate would ask of them.
Still,low care and easy to grow. They never need any fertilizer.

It looks great! I know they're the easiest plants to grow and flower. Only a sprinkle of water once and a while and it's happy.

This photo is of species Tlliandisa punctulata.
Stan, I have seen Tillandsia (do not know which species) growing everywhere but have not seen it flower. We had several in the old lime tree.
