I love it,and if it was at all possible to grow them here,I wouldn't hesitate to have one..of course,it would take up all of my back garden ! :o)

LOL. They are very large trees.

Very nice- every leaf perfect. And a perfect Triangle palm behind it. Although those can be grown here if you try hard enough, they would never match those in the subtropics. You have to be satisfied with a large shrubby Mango.
They 'Manila' Mango can be container grown. Its requirement for a long warm summer might be hard to do as far north as Europe. I could be wrong if somebody is determined....

Mango trees bloom when it's dry. They take between 3 and 4 months to ripen, though.

The mango trees here will most likely be blooming here soon, also. This is because of the warmer and drier than normal weather.

I really like the Triangle palm, also. (even though they're common here).

Too bad it takes so long to get the fruit. I would love to have a mango fresh from the tree. They will be size of hazel nut when we will leave. It is a dry season here although, we had couple of nights heavy rain and it was cool. Usually mostly sunny during the day and the sun (when it comes out) is hot.

I can imagine that far south its like our mid summer UV here in the bay area. When we hit our hottest winter day 78f?, the UV rating was only 3. On a scale that reaches 11+.
I would guess our hottest days of summer it still never tops 8. That would take a 35C,90f day. A 1-3 days a year event.

Way too technical for me Stan :-)

Klahanie:

I just read it takes 100 - 150 days after flowering for mangoes to ripen. I knew it was a long time.

I know the trees that flower here in February, March and April will not ripen until late July through Sept. (last year they ripened really early because the whole year was extremely hot).

Do you have any photos of any mango trees flushing with new growth? I love when they flush with new red-burgundy leaves! They're so gorgeous! I have several photo of the mango trees her flushing new growth. I never get tired of looking at them.
