Preparing for spring

Been to the family garden earlier in week and brother kindly gave me cuttings of anything he thinks will grow here and has agreed to baby sit them as well as he lives in a snug little pocketed area.

They have been put in rooting compost with a dab of rooting powder. Can you expand on the plunging idea as am unfamiliar with it?

Well Bjs, that was not too difficult as found a useful piece on plunging on the Seasonal Gardening website, all makes perfect sense, thank you for drawing my attention to it.

Are those rooted cuttings in the car or ones you intend to root if the latter the pots could do with plunging to prevent freezing
