some of my red onions have gone to seed.

I don't think any of these went to seed and this year's onions are all looking healthy.

I prefer the red onions as they can be used in salads as well as cooking and they have a pleasant taste.

I'm growing normal onions from seed this year as they came in a seed selection but I agree - think I'd choose red onions normally.

I seemed to have more trouble in storing the ordinary onions with them going rotten. Sometimes they got a maggoty thing in that turned them all mushy.
