Sorry it is not about gardening....celebrating the end of Cowes week...

Have been trying to capture these for years, a really bad night too, rainy, misty, and low cloud, such a shame it should have been yesterdays perfect weather, still thrilling though!

Well caught, the Red Arrows are based quite near us and often fly over doing practice manoeuvres, I've never managed to catch them on camera though :-)

Me neither Kath, they went over the other day all nine of them. Tell you what they make me jump when I am out in the garden but not as much as a helecopter flying so low it shook the whole house last week and my poor ears were vibrating for ages. lol. Thought the damned thing was coming down in the wood. lol. it was only just and I mean only just above the tree tops, what a racket.

Sandra they fly over our house quite often, we were on the beach one summer when they flew over the top of our heads, we all ducked!!
Our garden is just in the right position, whenever there are air displays we get to see them for free...:-D

HB they are so skilled at what they do, it just takes my breath away.

Mum, my friend used to lead them! I am so in awe of him..how on earth can anyone do this? Did anyone see the documentary...it was incredible! So proud of all our our armed services, just a pity they get dragged in to bad stuff far too much...but that's maybe a bit contentious....sorry!

He is a very brave man Karen, the speed and skills they fly with are truly amazing. There is a viewing area at the top of Scampton village looking down on the valley, great for watching them practice. Glad they are near us they can fly over me every day of the week they are so clever. Noisey but clever. lol :O)

GREAT photo Angie. I just love to see them in action. I missed the documentary that Karen refers to, I would loved to have seen that.

I have a good friend who is a keen photographer, he has his own website. He takes photos of various seens, also aircraft and ships. He has won several photo competitions. I mention this as he took what I consider to be a most AMAZING photo of the Red Arrows. He had been trying to get this photo for about 10 years. I would really like you to enjoy it as well. Bearing in mind the speed the RA's travel at, he managed to get four of them crossing in the same photograph!

The website is .......... iancpi.com

Super photo, I've seen the red arrows a few times and they have flown over the bungalow now and again on their way to a show. They are fantastic at what they do and I saw a programme on the T.V. a while ago that followed the training of pilots to get into the team of red arrows.

Dd2 and Lindak glad you enjoyed Ian's photo. I do hope they show the 'Red Arrows' documentary again. I expect they will, as there does seem to be a lot of 'repeats' on TV these days.

We watched them from the garden yesterday. Sywell air show is only 1 mile away as the crow flies so being up on a hill gives us a brilliant view. Riley watched in amazement!
