Oenothera biennis - Evening primrose

Oenothera biennis - Evening primrose

I do not know where it came from. It is a tall plant about 5 feet and only realy noticeable at dusk when it opens its flowers. Most of this plant is edible and I do see Evening Primrose oil sold everywhere. It is believed that it is delaying premature aging of the skin. In the fall the seeds can be added to your cereal, mix in yoghurt and squirt of lemon for a healthy breakfast :-). Rich in Omega 6.
It is not a showy plant you want to have in your main garden but it would fit a herbal corner of it.

I've seen it growing wild but never tried it in the garden. Maybe I'll have a go, since the seeds are edible :)
