Not sure what this is or where it came from. A "birdie" must have brought it. I'm sure the smart people here would know.

Yes, it's an Aquilegia or more commonly known as Granny's Bonnet! A favourite plant in the cottage garden. They do self seed very easily...! This one looks like a special one... Lucky you BG!
