Daylily cross - Golden Tentacles X Free Wheelin'

When I made this cross, I didn't expect the applique throat. On the Lily Auction (where they sell a lot of seeds), the crosses with Golden Tentacles have sold very poorly. But I wanted to see what the edge would do with Free Wheelin', so I made the cross. There is another seedling from this that is very different, and has the applique throat (it has had problems opening, but I'm hoping warmer weather will take care of that).

Thanks. I went out around 11 PM last night (Checking on the slug/snail/earwig populations), and it opened all the way flat. With a bud count of 21, this will go into the consideration for registration group.

I really am having a rethink on Golden Tentacles. I'm going make a few more crosses with it this year to see if that is really wants causing those throats.

I'm so grateful for the seeds you've sent me from GOLDEN TENTACLES. It is autumn here and I've planted the seedlings just the other day. I can't wait to see them in bloom!

I finally found which one this reminded me of - "The Butler Did It". Although that one is sculpted, the colours are very similar to this one.
