Hi M. and M! Yessss! I can't wait to plant the pond plants!
The weather people are calling for rain tonight but it's so cold I'm afraid it will snow!

Well, it did not snow. I suppose I should be grateful...but I'm not able to get to my car because the last three warm days gave us only rain and have melted most of the snow and we have a lake now...not just a pond. Our driveway has been washed out completely, and the water continues to rise. ...the animals are lining up, two by two.

Get that boat out..it had better be a biggish one with all your wildlife!
What about your plants though, any possibility off your garden getting swept away in this deluge?

The spring melt always leaves behind a lot of silt, M. I lost my iris pseudacorus last spring when a local beaver dam was opened. That was an investment that went down the drain! things like that keep me conservative when tempted to buy expensive plants. The Siberian Irises are still a mess, and thankfully, they appear to be OK....need to cut down the last crop. As an experiment I left the seedpods attached to one clump and was excited to see that the pods had opened from the top and maybe (if they don't get washed away or buried in silt) I will have self seeded sibs! But,....as I'm writing this the sleet and snow have returned. It started as rain but the temps dropped so quickly that I was out taking pictures and the water froze on everything... making walking treacherous. Have enough pics for a blog, I think.
