shrub layout - very rough

shrub layout - very rough

I was trying to take pics and match them up to the very rough gorund plan, but got hopelessly lost - doesn't help that I've already numbered four out of sequence (flower before leaf) so I'll have to forget all that and number them straight - and then try to match them with the pics! there seem to be 22 so far.

Brilliant idea to have a plan, and nicely done! You are clever Fran. I couldn't do this!

lol neither can I, as the pic proves! Did it with a Word table, so thre are limitations. I think I need to physically label each shrub and then take a pic of both together so I'll know which is which. or, even easier, get a gardener round to tell me!

I use Tables in Word rather a lot, easy way to get a graph with specified number of squares up and across, and specified size (I've actually got half a dozen keyboard shortcuts to Table elements, from Select to Sort, Insert Row, Column, Delete either, Select either ... beats having to keep going to the "Table" tab on the top bar).

They can be a bit annoying - sometimes a table will decide to split halfway down a page, so you have one cell halfway down the page and the next cell on the next page; i've not managed to figure out why it does that.

it's handy for typing reports that have inset bullet points, over several levels - if you want to change the spacing oyuu just move the vertical line before the cell, rather than have to highilight and go into "bullets and numbers" and change each level. The table can be made invisible, so it looks very neat and orderly - proved it doesn't soplit halfway down the page, as mentioned before.

all my books, DVDs, etc are listed in Word, then i can sort them in any field - title, author, genre, whatever.

I use it most for making graphs as i have in this pic - only way i can line things up, not having proper "draw" software

lol try it, it's pretty useful.
