I have to try this! It's Beauty Berry, right? I have a hillside that's been a lawn for years and I want to bring it back to trees and shrubs. Saw your pic of the Weigela too...I have Summer Wine (Proven Winners) and it's just three years old and not very large. I think it's at the limit of it's hardiness here but I'm hoping I can bring it along by planting it on the southside of the house. At present it's under 3 ft of snow.

Hi Lorilyn57!! I only know it as Beauty Bush if it's the same thing. My Weigela is on the south side of my house and it does very well there.I pruned it back severely about 2 or 3 yrs ago and this is the result.Really think they need pruning every so often as do most shrubs. Can you believe this winter!!!I will be so glad to see my garden again.

....SIGH!.... I'm fed up and it's only 1/3 the way thro winter....would it be too much to hope for an early spring? Winter landed with a thump in the first few days of December, in these parts. It hasn't given up it's grip except for a short thaw in early Jan. Thankful for GoY! At least our friends in the UK are having an early spring!
