Swiss chard

Pretty enough to grow in the border, and useable all winter.

looks nice and healthy. I've never tasted this so what does it taste like?

It has a slightly smoky flavour. I've tried stir frying it with leek and a spot of lemon joiice to finish and it makes a nice change. You cook the stems first and then add the shredded leaves as if they were spinach. Lots of recipes on the Net.
