Ledebouria socialis (Ledebouria socialis)

Bloomed indoors in the spring. I moved it outdoors as a table ornament/feature plant for the summer and it's in bloom again. The flowers are tiny, but so colourful. A photo of the whole plant is here..............

Has the name 'socialis' anything to do with 'social' Keith...and if so, why?!

...you know what I mean...I was thinking of the 'obedient' plant etc.

Possibly because of the way that it produces offsets so freely forming large clumps quickly. See the other photo - this was just two large bulbs and five babies last November.
