I bet it is darker than the picture shows - dark colours are really hard to photograph well.

Normally 5inch Karen but they do seem much larger this year, I'll have to get the tape measure out :-)
You're right Wylie it is really stands out in the daylily bed, I had the same problem today trying to photograph a seedling on the allotment really dark plum/purple just couldn't capture the right colour its a keeper though ;-)
