Last fall I watched a fat green caterpillar make a cocoon on one of my nursery pots so I brought it inside my sunroom to see what would happen. I forgot all about it until it emerged today.

They can get pretty big, I've seen them as large as 6-7 inches across. This one doesn't have its wings spread all the way out but is a large moth. It has been neat watching this thing since it was a caterpillar, even then it was huge!
