Daphne x burkwoodii 'Carol Mackie'

Daphne x burkwoodii 'Carol Mackie'

Cannot believe how much this has grown in past year, even after being transplanted and the heat/drought we had last summer. Everyone says not to trim daphnes but this is going to be cut back after flowering so it doesn't get top heavy and split already. I trim my daphnes several times a season and never lost one afterwards.

I hope you are right Rkwright because I just trimmed (slightly) my winter daphne to get a little better shape. Mine was also top heavy. More than this in the picture.
