Out with some of the old, in with the new!

My beautiful lavender bushes are now becoming so woody that I'm having to replace them with new ones. I prune them back at the end of each season but the woodiness creeps up higher every year. I hope my new bushes will give me (and the bees) as much pleasure as the old ones.
