Red Riding Hood tulips at their peak

For me this is a spring essential for the garden. These 'Red Riding Hoods' stand about 10" tall with fat scarlet blooms and maroon streaks on leaves. The flowers open fully in sunlight to resemble oriental poppies. They bloom from mid to end April and combine well with forget-me-nots, violet aubretia or late daffodils. Best of all they come back each year so you don't have to dig up or replace.

Thanks for your kind comments! These were actually bought from Lidl in Sept 2012. They were a bargain at £1.60 for 12. A typical garden centre would sell them for at least £2.50 for 10.
