Hi Tracy , I bought a bunch of these this last weekend where we were staying for a few days they were selling them on the market , I was told you could let them dry out to last longer I've put them in a vase without water to see if it's true !

It looks good. It should open soon. Your climate is perfect for them. UC Santa Cruz in your area has one of the largest collection of Proteas in California. They love the climate there right next to the Pacific Ocean. They grow very well here in San Diego, also. :>)

Hello all =) It'll be a while b4 this is fully open. Yes, this is a good climate for them. Amy, they do make nice cut flowers. I love all the different varieties these come in. Delonix...I'm going to have to go visit UCSC and add to my collection and take pics too =)
