Hello Sticki, yes it is camellia, but I just do not know which one.I will post a picture of the individual flower and maybe you or other GOY members will recognize it.

Don't think I have ever seen one doing so well!

This tree is well protected from winter winds Sticki. It also amazes me how well it is doing regardless of my neglect. I just take it for granted and it is there for me every spring.

It makes me believe that they do not need a special tratment. Do you grow camellia Sticki?

Yes I have three or four I don't do anything special with them.

Wow! It's amazing to see a Camellia growing in full sun. They can only grow on the north sides of building or houses or close to other trees for protection from the hot sun. Most years they sunburn even in those protected spots.

I did not know you can grow them in San Diego Delonix,
These are not exactly tropical plants :-)

There's a lot of them here. In Balboa Park, there's hundreds along the north sides of the building. They start to bloom in late Oct or early November and continue to bloom all winter long. I noticed the other day many still had flowers.
