Amy if its that cold how are the flowers surviving,they go brown at first sign of frost down here

Thanks Paul , Brian it's definitely been freeezing and very cold this one has been in flower for some time , I can only put it down to the fact that it is surrounded by other shrubs and is well above the ground approx 4/5 ft tall it's well established and usually does well whatever the winter ...

Brian, my Pieris has been flowering for a while too with no ill effects of the cold, I've been surprised how well it's done but it is well established so maybe that helps.

That's good news Louisa I,m happy to say I,ve never had any problems with mine perhaps it is down to them being mature shrubs , the frost looks to if it has killed some plants and shrubs in our garden I have a very large Garrya elliptica which looks dead the leaves are completey brown I shall be sad to lose it but am keeping my fingers crossed that it may shoot out new leaves ......

Lovely capture, hoping our white ones have not been taken, ours are fairly young shrubs....so fingers crossed.

Lovely white one and doing very well despite the weather, my Pink one has been in flower for a few weeks now amazing shrubs aren't they;0)
