Double red speckled hellebore

Double red speckled hellebore

Ideally I'd like to move this and have a 'path' to the mirror, but I'm scared of losing this beauty. Perhaps if I dug up a huge area of soil with it's roots it might not notice.....?

It is beautiful! I would do just that if it were me..I have moved so many around the garden at odd times of year, they have all settled down fine and flowering right now.

Its gorgeous. I have divided one of my white ones, but its not doing so well this year. Just hope it will recover for next year. I agree with Michaella, it should be ok if you move it with plenty of soil.

Not like to to worry about moving a plant!!
I moved a smaller one year before last and it sulked last year but improving this year. Not many flowers but at least it's alive.
You may remember my Hellebore question back in November - look here

Thanks everyone. You're right, it's not like me Scottish. I think I read somewhere that they don't like being moved. Books put fear in my gardening! ;)

Move it very quickly with plenty of soil in to a hole that is ready to receive it, with some suitable compost, it will never know it has been moved, I speak from years of experience lol....... we recently moved a 5 X 4 ft Skimmia, was about to move it again, when OH said it had taken!! so I will let it be for now!!
