Hippeastrum Flaming Peacock no.3

Hippeastrum Flaming Peacock no.3

I think this hybrid got its knickers in a twist. This is the second stem from this bulb. I have had three almost identical coloured flowers but with various amounts of orange/red and white on each. I am showing this flower because it illustrates the butterfly pattern so beautifully.

Its very odd when you look at previous photos all from this one bulb this year. I can't say I would choose one version over the others as they have all been very attractive.

Strange that they should vary from the same bulb!

Would I be mad in thinking it has a leonine 'face'?
It's amazing.

Its very strange Paul but maybe it is the runt of the litter because I only paid £2.99 for it in either Lidl or Aldi. Thanks Tt and Suey. Mouldy one of the parents of this plant is a Hippeastrum 'papillio' which means 'butterfly'. I can see that the 5 centre petals do look a bit like a butterfly but could also be a lions head.

Or a hippie with handlebar moustache.
What a fabulous photo!
Naturally, it went straight into my faves.

Lol!

I have to keep returning to this page, Scotsgran, as Goy keeps deleting it from my faves, along with others!

When members have problems we can use the contact us tab on the bottom of the page to tell the boys what is happening. If they can sort out the problem everybody wins. Just click on the tab and follow the instructions. I'm waiting to hear from the about not being able to upload pictures to Questions i'm asking.

Just added it again, Scotsgran.
Maybe we're only allowed so many faves?
Am still awaiting their reply to a query I put to them about 3wks ago, so assume they're snowed under.
It seems cruel to add to their problems, if not outright cheeky considering this is all for free.

They did send me a message to say an expert was going to sort out the problem with not being able to upload photos. I have just had another to say all should be well now. I have not tried it yet.

Well, I'm going to do as you suggest, Scotsgran, as I've had to add it yet again, because it's been deleted since we last 'spoke'!!!
Hope your uploads have been sorted.
