Strange looking flower reminds me of a sea creature.

It's a member of the Ginger family, commonly called Spiral Ginger because of the way the stalks grow.

It is one of the most prolifically flowering ornamental Gingers, and so easy to propagate and grow.

I just adore these red cones that crown the foliage, and those lovely little orange flowers that pop out of the cones. This plant flowers almost non-stop all year round.
