Difficult to see the edge of the road!

Difficult to see the edge of the road!

If you misjudge the edge of the road, behind that pile of snow on the right, there's a 150' drop waiting to claim you!

That's a bit scary! Very pretty though.

I don't think I would like to drive on that road but it does look beautiful.

Beautiful, you are so lucky. We have just been looking at some snow sock's for the car they look very good. So we can go a bit further on the moor :0)

Looks lovely,I don't see any tyre tracks on the road, don't blame anyone for not driving on it,I would not chance driving on that road with a 150' drop to one side.

Beautiful Jan, very picturesque!
It's all very well, so long as you don't have to go out in it.
Hope you're feeling better...stay warm and safe xx

Not too bad at the moment, thank you Waddy - fingers crossed. I've heard about "snow socks", Sue, but have heard not such good reports of them. They're fine for emergencies, but don't last very long at all, apparently. The thaw is under way, but when it freezes overnight, (only -6° last night) roads become like a skating rink, and ten times more dangerous than just snow. We went out this morning and ventured up to the village - most of the roads are quite clear now, but we were the only people out and about. Our council blokes are wonderful - when our friend went up to the cowsheds this morning to do the milking at 04.45, the roads (and these are little narrow, tertiary country lanes) were already cleared and gritted.

Fantastic picture - scary thoughts!

Bloomer, good connection, but not a nice thought! I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Very pretty - just take care when you are negotiating it and any other roads in a similar setting.

You need nerves of steel,to drive along that road!!
Has it continued to snow this week or are they the remnants of last week's?

I think, Gattina , I'd rather look at it from inside a nice warm house. I hope you're not venturing too far!

Lovely picture - but yes - a bit of frightening thought if you go over!!

This is mainly stuff that came down on Thursday and Friday. More expected tomorrow and Thursday, though, Paul. Rose, we're staying home as much as possible. Everyone is.

Lovely with the blue skies! My OH used to relish roads like that . . . I didn't mind unless it was ACTUALLY snowing, when visibility made things tricky so say the least.

People are mostly staying indoors here too - it's so cold that our 4" of snow are just sitting there. But the forecast says milder by the weekend, so fingers crossed . . .
