Oh my goodness! and I get excited about a squirrel. This sight would take my breath away!

It can decimate the whole garden in a day. I have to plant what they do not eat which is not much. But I have some plants which I inherited and it attracts them. We have lots of deers around and yesterday we spotted black bear on our road.

Ah, rural life in Canada, Klahanie! have gathered all the apples that fell to keep the bears from sniffing us out...deer like them too. It's hunting season here in less than a month. I dread the whole month of November for that as well as many other reasons!

Lori, we still have all the apples on the tree. And there was a bear roaming around our area the other day.
Couple of years ago it uprooted our 'golden delicious' apple tree. It tried to climb it I guess. I leave the very small or defected apples in the forest for deers.

oh bother...it takes fruit trees a while to get their roots under themselves. Did you replant? I didn't want to leave the apples under the tree as they had scab which I didn't want to complete a cycle. Took all the scabby apples (a wheelbarrow full) and put them to the side of the compost heap...near the woods. If the deer want them they are welcome to them! and if bruin comes around he won't do any damage to the tree.

Yes, we replanted Lori and it seems to do OK.
