Pelargonium

Pelargonium

I overwintered this ordinary bedding plant in its pot. Because it was such a mild winter, it never actually stopped flowering. I am going to try and keep most of my this year's ones over winter because I really like them when they get big like this. Fingers crossed!

I find them easy to overwinter. I put them in the bathroom lol

They used to be kept all year round quite a lot, I believe. They are not often used as a houseplant now, though, are they? My mother-in-law used to have a Busy Lizzie houseplant - it was huge, and rather ugly!!

The bathroom sounds like a very good place!

I like the pot. Wish I had room to put some in my bathroom over winter.

Yes, me too! We have huge windows with tiny windowsills. The scope for brnging plants into the house is very limited. (Although windowsills are probably not the best place to overwinter plants) They do well in the cold greenhouse, as long as I remember to put them in there!

That pot is a favourite of mine - I like the straight sides.

I've over wintered them before and if i kept any indoors they would flower all year round

I think they would, Clarice This one always had a small flower blooming in the greenhouse right through last winter. I really love them - they just go on and on.
