It couldn't have just got damaged Drc? One of my clematis Josephine never suffers from wilt - but did this year. On further investigation something had snapped a couple of the stems almost at ground level!

mine were like this last year Denise so i chopped them right back, this year ok and flowers, i also covered the base with bits of brocken pot to shade more, maybe it helped.

Dont think so as its in a huge pot Scottish about 3 ft from the ground and growing up an obilisk, so very protected. Sanbaz I wonder if you have got it! I have forgotten to cover the roots this year and its in full light at the roots.I will cover it tomorrow, thanks.

yeah i remeber reading the roots need shade now, i will bear that in mind for my new dr.ruppel! good luck drc! :-)

Tops in sun and roots in shade is the general rule Leigh, although its not true for all of them I tend to stick to it.

I had one that always wilted. It died completely last year. The others are all right so far. I hope your one will recover.
