yes, Franl do the my best , but ican start this coming June, Dry season now is really devastating :-O, The heat is on!

9 May, 2014

it's a pity you can't save the rain when you get too much of it to use when you don't have enough: don't suppose there'd be room for a water butt on your balcony, even if you could find somewhere to connect it to.

That's a good idea Franl, but the flood is everywhere even inside our house, its above our knees, Philippines is a floody country we have almost 15 typhoons every year and its really bad sometimes it can reach a two house storey :-(

hell's bells, Junna, that's too much water by a long way! That makes your garden all the more remarkable. What storey do you live on?

I'm paranoid about flooding - I can just remember the North Sea Flood of 1953, and read up on it leter. For this quiet part of hte world, it was pretty bad - but not when I think that you get that sort of thing 12 times a year!

For some idiot reason I thought you lived in USA - I really should go back to school for geography lessons,

i really cannot imagine the typhoon that visited our country last year, almost killed a thousands of lives, many says that Phillipines will be erase in the world map, sometimes i believe ,and sometimes not by the grace of our Lord, good for us we have a 2 storey house, but to those poorest of the poor they were the one that suffer too much;-(
OK, flood is really devastating as u already know
Lol! its ok Fran, nobody's perfect! i live in the country that has so many island!

with global warming weather patterns that have been fairly stable for tens of thousands of years are breaking up and changing worldwide - every part of the world is feeling the effect, but some a lot more than others.

And sea tempreatures are getting wrmer, so sea levels round the world are risingg - I read that a lot of the smaller Pacific Islands will cease to exist as land *above*the sea, and all countries that have a coastline will get smaller as the sea moves in.

And still people argue that there's no such thing as climate change!

16 May, 2014

lack of knowledge in science that's the Problem Fran, even here it is worst they believe that its always God Punishment, They always have a parade of saints and a ritual of prayers , i do not know sometimes i am thinking what kind of people are my countrymen , they really should know that mother earth needs to take care a lot esp. now , we have a lot disasters and its all about the climate change ;-o

it's not just your people, Junna - over here a politician said that the storms and flooding we had in the UK earlier this year were god's punishment for gay marraige!

years ago there was a report that said that we had x years to act to reverse the trend - after that it would be impossible to reerse - can't remember how many years they said, but I think we've passed the point of no return by now.

The problem is that the people who control the world, the global corporations, are insulated from "the real world" -they can buy their way out of anything, so they're not worried - especially as it would cost them a slight dip in their profits to change business practice to make them more eco-friendly.

and some people claim that "global warming" is a con, put out by governments and companies, that it's all about them making money.

Earth temperatures hae always fluctuated, they say, and this is just another example - Eeath has often been hotter than this. Which is has - but all life at the moment has evolved to live in *these* temperatures - or these temperatures before humans started interfering. And even if the earth is warming naturally, all the junk pumped into the atmosphere can't be helping much.

lol I get so angry sometimes! also because I can't see anything that I can do about it.
