Drc I'm growing this for the first time....do you cut this right back after flowering?

So am I, Scottish I sewed the seed last year. I thought I would just trim the flowers after flowering which is June till September. Just found the instructions it says 'After flowering, lightly shear the plants to keep them neat and bushy.
I thought at first it had flopped over but it is supposed to be flattened clusters of ground cover.

Hi - by light shearing, if its say a privet I take that to mean cutting the top 2-4 leaves off every stem, this is about 1/3rd of the new growth and should be enough to keep the shape while allowing it to get bigger.
If its perennials and mid season and you want them to flower again just cut the flower head off, (its a bit like cutting off mustard and cress with nail scissors) This works well with flowers such as Petunias, Pansies and Antirrhinums. The idea is if they cannot set seed they will try again. I also think if you dont want the seed dont let them as the energy goes into the plant rather than the seed.

Thank you so much for the shearing masterclass Drc....it's much appreciated. Like Karen, I've been scared of the wee plants and they always end up looking a mess because I have been unsure on what to do. I'm hopeful I can get it right now :))))
