That has lasted well. I usually find that they don't last very long!

All the rest are all but gone, Scottish...This one is a metre tall and that double head is a good 30cms across - I think that this is a super-iris! lol! ;)

Asolutely beautiful, Nancy...sadly, it's last flush...but, happily, still one bud left!

It reminds me of pretty frilly underwear...the kind I never wear these days...come to think of it, rarely did! lol

phew! lololol! ;)

6 Jun, 2012

So....how is your local wine this year Karen? lol ;) hic..

6 Jun, 2012

Ours is pretty rough...I have to be honest...

It all goes to make Cognac and Pineau...which is rather nice! I prefer the rouge! And I always enjoy the neighbours' own...free as well! lol! hic!

But, Bordeaux and Saint Emilion are just on the doorstep...

6 Jun, 2012

Ah yes, well there you go, you can't do better than there....well perhaps a lovely Rioja, but that's another country altogether. My favourite is actually a good C de Rhone...funny that! :)

6 Jun, 2012

Me too, I love Vaqueyras (dunno if I spelt that right tho)
...and Côte Roti...

...but, the caves at St Emilion are fantastic...and they always let you try before you buy!! We've got lots of Tour de Sême...nailed up...not to be opened before...20??!!

I'm going to Navarra in July! Been before - loved it! Staying in the Paradors...and will come home with lots and lots of Tempranillo!!!

Ooh, sounds like you have a real love of the red stuff like me. Pre-children we joined a wine club which was great for learning what we liked. I always buy European wines, never new world. I like to support the smaller growers right on my 'doorstep'. I haven't yet tried any of the English stuff though...must give it a go some time. We had an amazing Muscat dessert wine at the weekend...wish I could remember the name of it, but I was so sloshed by the time we'd finished it off! Bottle of Rioja with Dinner and half a bottle of Muscat after that and G&T to start....bliss...I think the food was excellent! lol...it was our anniversary celebration! 23 years now....all of them in Scotland! Going to email the restaurant and get the name of that wine.......

6 Jun, 2012

Heehee! Happy Anniversary! And it sounds like it was, too!!
Was it Muscat de Baumes de Venis, by any chance?
...might have spelt that wrong...but another fab Côte de Rhône!!!

Oh...the wine, the wine...if only I could make a (nother) career out of it...lol!

6 Jun, 2012

Well, you probably could....but it might not be a good idea for your long term health! :)
