I'm very happy and hopeful for you, Pim! :)))

After you've had wisteria blossoms, spring just wouldn't be the same without them...

Thanks Karen..It is ten years old and small as it is in a pot (Dolly Tub). the flowers don't last long enough for you to tire of seeing them do they?

And my pond arrived....a bit bigger than I thought , so hang on to those fishes lol..;)

11 May, 2012

Love Wisteria . . . is yours scented? I've got a white one grown as a standard at the top of the garden - must now go and see if it is flowering yet!

11 May, 2012

Lovely P....are you doing the pond thing too? I've bought myself a wee one - more of a puddle really!!

11 May, 2012

You as well..I went to the Aquatic garden specialists as well today. Some truely beautiful plants and the FISH!! some of them were as big as the pond I have got.

11 May, 2012

It's this bloody website P.....don't want fish but did have a wee look at them but only in the GC - they didn't float my boat :)
Think I've only got about room for 4 plants in the pond so will need to choose very carefully!!!
I really want to have it in the shade but I don't think that's a good idea although I think too much sun is a problem too - I much prefer them surrounded with greenery like Hostas and Ferns etc. Still trying to decide on the optimum site for it.
What are your plans?

11 May, 2012

Lor' Scottish, you have got it easy...I will have to construct a framework of some sort as I am not digging up my concrete yard....much as I would like to. It will have to be in my shadiest bit , not very shady at all. It will mean a complete re-jig of everything...Lol...I have got a cascade section as well and the pump from a massive pond...Well looking forward to it.

11 May, 2012

You are going for it big time - pond and cascade - you've got me all excited about it now!
How's the sciatica - will it hinder your DIY framework construction? I certainly hope not!

11 May, 2012

I am on crutches now...Some little old lady beat me to the electric scooter at the GC.

I can't see me getting it set up that quickly...Plus I have to scavenge the materials. Got my eye on a huge pile of yorkstone. Need to think of a line to spin the workmen so they will let me have it. ;))

11 May, 2012

I'm sure you let the auld biddy win ;)
Go round with the crutches - that may work. My other suggestion wouldn't work since you are male :))))

11 May, 2012

you could offer to put the workmen in a glorious all colour blog that goes around the world pimms ~ if only they would let you have just a few pieces of stone???

good luck and i really hope you will feel better soon, we had sunshine today ~ that definitely makes you feel better!!!

11 May, 2012

Haaha Scottish..I don't look pathetic in the right way. More like ...What's he up to?

I am not in a bad state at the mo Sticki...I can still laugh at myself. The crutches are because I can't feel my foot, so I have been falling over.

11 May, 2012

pimms i cant ever imagine you other than being able to smile and laugh and to find something to make others smile too!!!

11 May, 2012

nice, i noticed mine is starting to bud up now...

11 May, 2012

Is it not out SL ? ...My Mothers is still in bud, she is only 10 miles away. Must be my brick walls.

11 May, 2012

my mother-in laws is in full bloom, mines just showing buds i'll put a pic on soon...

11 May, 2012

and mines has gone to the very large council wheelie bin in the sky!!!! :)

12 May, 2012

Why Scottish?

12 May, 2012

Fed up being disappointed every year with it P....it was flowering when I bought it so I knew it was capable of flowering. Despite faithfull pruning etc it didn't work.
Last year I took the loppers to it with a view to digging it out at a later date. It came away - better than before - but was looking hellish a couple of weeks ago and so I just gave up!!!!

12 May, 2012

No room for slackers eh?

12 May, 2012

No P.....that's pretty much how I am in life too!

12 May, 2012

The ponds that I have had in the past have been in the sun for the morning and shade for the afternoon if that's any help. With these plants I used to prune the new growth back to 6 inches after the summer.
