thanx Alex, need shade mainly and moist ground or bog garden, not hot and dry, so depends if you have a space thats suits where you are Alex.

30 Apr, 2012

More and more perfect for my gable end! :))))))

30 Apr, 2012

i thought it may be to dry where you are Alex unless you have a wet area, like a pond edge where its roots could be in wet.

Doesn't look like mines going to flower this year then, no sign of anything yet, damn it was only leaves last year too:-), lovely to see yours though San :-)

1 May, 2012

thanx Linda it is interesting and lasts so long with flowers first then leaves :o))
sorry about that simbad, can you see swellings from the corm a pinky colour, thats what mine looks like where the flowers burst from, i have had this about 4 years and had flowers from 2nd year, also make sure the corms are above ground level and just dangly roots below, not surpose to be buried. just a thought :o)

2 May, 2012

Thanks for that Sanbaz I didn't know the corms had to be above ground oops, mines been in 2 years now and only had leaves so far, no sign of any swellings, so thanks for the tip I'll dig it up and replant it properly :-))

2 May, 2012

simbad if you zoom in on my pic you can see the hard corm on the soil, and the soil packed around, it will settle itself in over time , mine did.

2 May, 2012

simbad just posted a pic for you, hope it helps.

2 May, 2012

Thanks San just seen it ;-)

3 May, 2012

Brilliant. Everything so late here, cold too.

3 May, 2012

Well I went out and checked San and did find the rhizomes above ground like in your picture, they were a bit hidden by bluebell leaves :-), not as big as yours yet, but there is something sprouting from them not sure if it'll be leaves or flowers, but the leaves come later don't they, so fingers crossed for flowers:-)

3 May, 2012

its not to bad here Dawn for a change, but could do with being a bit warmer now we are in may ;o))
simbad thats the word i was looking for lol "rhizomes " i knew corms wasnt right somehow even though you knew what i ment haha, well im glad it seems ok, fingers crossed for some flowers :o)))yes leaves later

4 May, 2012

Hi Sandra ... beautiful flowers :o)

7 May, 2012

Hi san, was thinking of splitting mine, did you do this in the autumn or spring and how? cheers :^)

13 May, 2012

thankyou Terra they are pretty and the leaves are great to after :o)))
HI Daylily, you can split them either, i found it easier in spring before they shoot, but iv done both times of the year,
i just get a spade and try to dig between the rhizomes, you know what i mean as they sit on top of soil, also i try to see which have shoots starting if in spring so i get a good piece to set or give someone, doesnt matter if you snap any off as long as plenty of good roots dangling when you lift them, they look tough to lift but once you slice it they come up quite easy,
hope that helps :o)) try to keep each sausage piece intact if you can haha, very discriptive hey!

13 May, 2012

Lol San, thanks very much :^))

13 May, 2012
