Fascinating to see the progress, Karen.
I guess you've had less showers than in England ?

21 Apr, 2012

Not too bad TT. Rain in the morning, then lots of dark sky but occasional sunny spells. Very dark and threatening again now.

21 Apr, 2012

Wow - coming on great Karen! Love the seat

21 Apr, 2012

Thank you Sheilar. The photo makes it hard to see the shape, but you can probably make out where the bit for your bottom is! I'm going to plant the back of it with evergreen ferns as that side will be in shade all day. :)

21 Apr, 2012

Wow this mound is gonna have to be named, you know, Heman Hill type of name.
Maybe KarensKlime or PondPerch!
Come on Goyers your good at this. Name the turf seat. Lol.

21 Apr, 2012

lol.....nice one willi!

21 Apr, 2012

Karen's Knoll ?

21 Apr, 2012

How about the 'Carnoustie Couch'?

21 Apr, 2012

Ben Bottomula?

21 Apr, 2012

Turfy Tor or ... Grassibottom??

21 Apr, 2012

Oh dear Karen, your gonna have a tough time choosing, Lol.

21 Apr, 2012

looks really good Karen..

21 Apr, 2012

Thank you Slad! we are currently trying to think of a class name for the turf seat. I hope you have an idea because I haven't come up with much yet!

21 Apr, 2012

how about a Lawn Lounger :-))

21 Apr, 2012

Yup, that's a good one. :)

21 Apr, 2012

:-)

21 Apr, 2012

That was quick, Karen! It's looking fantastic already!

Sorry, can't think of anything better than already suggested...but hope that you enjoy 'laying down (on) the law' ;))

22 Apr, 2012

that will be amazing to sit on in the sunshine, I love it. I love the idea of ferns too. :o)

22 Apr, 2012

It looks like one of those little houses that the Hobbits lived in. I love it: Now what was that little persons name???? We cried buckets over his demise in Lord of the Rings: oh my memory is terrible this morning, think it is waterlogged.

22 Apr, 2012

hey thats different karen, dont get ya bum wet though, love it :o))

22 Apr, 2012

Thank you ...it looks great now I've planted up the back of it with ferns etc. In a couple of weeks it will start to knit together. Rachel sat on it today and got her bum wet, but she said it was comfy!

22 Apr, 2012

great lol, is this in sun or shade karen, im wondering cause of ferns, i would like some near mine but fear it is to hot in summer.

22 Apr, 2012

Well, there's a thing! I thought the back would be in shade all the time, being North East facing, but it was actually quite sunny today, so now I don't know how my ferns will cope. Time will tell. The front of the seat faces South west, and this part of the garden is very sunny in the morning and all afternoon and evening.

San, I'm just looking at the forecast on countryfile...so glad I got it done this week as next week...RAIN!

22 Apr, 2012

You don't mess about Katen, do you? Looks good. I can't work out the turf bench though.

22 Apr, 2012

I have aspenium and shuttlecock ferns (cant remember how to spell the proper name :)) growing in full sun Karen and they seem to be ok - maybe its the moist soil that helps!

22 Apr, 2012

Yes, I think some ferns will take a lot of sun if kept moist. I'm crossing my fingers for mine. If it doesn't work....oh well, back to the drawing board!

22 Apr, 2012

Dawn...I keep taking photos but it's really hard to get the shape on camera. it's like a bean bag really. I shall keep trying for you! if I were sitting on it it would be clear, but it's too damp! :))

22 Apr, 2012

Well put your back door rubber mat on it for the photo!

22 Apr, 2012

lol...good idea!

22 Apr, 2012

You need a Fairy door for the side of it ;O))

23 Apr, 2012

Aha! I can see it now!!!

That's a good idea, Annella - a few garden fairies would be really helpful from time to time... :))

23 Apr, 2012

im going to get an asian budda for near my pond they bring good luck apparently, my sister is very into all that and said if you have a budda in garden especially asian one they should be near water as they need to drink,
anyway im on the look out for one :o))

23 Apr, 2012

A fairy door!!!!! That is an absolutely brilliant idea!! Oh, now where will I get one.....I need someone who is good with wood and nails! :)))) Brilliant! Thank you for that stroke of genius Annie!.

San, I don't know about a drinking asian Buddha, but fairies, definitely! :)))

23 Apr, 2012

It will look lovely and even better if you can get one made. I fell in love with Wildroses ones, hers came from 'Times past'

23 Apr, 2012

Ah, thanks...I'll go and have a look. If you mean 'Past Times' they have gone bust...but I'll go and look online. :))

23 Apr, 2012

Lol Yes 'Past times'....I looked about 4 weeks ago and they still had a site

23 Apr, 2012

INteresting...wonder if it's only the shops they've closed then? Right, off to look.....

23 Apr, 2012

I've just had a look on Amazon, they are lovely

23 Apr, 2012

this is the one I went for http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0051H74ZQ/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

23 Apr, 2012

That will look amazing, love it:

23 Apr, 2012

lol....isn't it cute? ;)

23 Apr, 2012

Now it will be definitely look like that hobbits home it really is a good idea that door. It wants a sea glass mosaic to name it too. Come on Karen, get down to the beach.

23 Apr, 2012

Goodness, no need for that, I have tons of glass....well two vases full anyway! And a mosaic looking for a home (the tree one, couldn't part with it in the end). I was only thinking earlier that I might be able to use it here somehow. :)

23 Apr, 2012

Great minds then eh!! Can't wait to see the door in situ. :o))))

23 Apr, 2012

Good choice :-)

23 Apr, 2012

Thank you homebird. I have only seen this kind of thing at Chelsea and Hampton Court before. Here's an idea that inspried me....http://www.jupiterartland.org/the_works/the_artists/charles_jencks/

I am definitely going to see this soon. It opens on May 11th for the summer....Edinburgh.

23 Apr, 2012

Karen. Thanks for explaining the bean bag effect, I was trying to picture a 'bench' derr. I'm sure you'll get it looking perfect in no time. No, don't go sitting on damp grass, you'll get piles lol. Been there, done that!
