Oh lovely, memories come flooding back when I see 'proper' violets.

I wonder what it is...they do the same for me. I believe they represented 'faithfulness' in Victorian times. My first sighting of wild ones was in my churchyard in the village near Gainsborough where I first went to school. I hate the way they spread absolutely everywhere, but I couldn't bear not to have them! :)))))

Well I remember them in mum's garden when I was growing up, and they had a beautiful scent. I have white ones growing in the garden and they are like weeds and no scent to them.
