I see you are getting busy. That little hill will make a splendid rock garden. And no doubt you are finding the stones as you go!

I like the sound of that Lori , I would love a rock garden with water running through it , what is the wild Clematis like ?

LOL...yes Oji...I find ALL the stones I need just a few inches below the sod! Thought of calling our place ``The Stoney End`...!
It will be a job that will take a few seasons to see complete, I think, Amy. The wild clematis has a very brittle stem that breaks easily and roots prolifically...it catches on the stream banks during the flood time and roots itself sending up many stems...it gets tangled and lost in the long grasses...hence a big mess...I will try to encourage it in a few places and rip the rest out...don`t know what to do with it as all that I put in the compost last year rooted and produced a lovely little hummock of vegetation that the deer seemed to like to browse. should take a couple of pictures to show and tell...it really is remarkable. (also found some Virginia Creeper strangling an ancient Tamarack, so will try to get photos to post.)
