what a lovely place

that is what I thought too Michaella, snow does such a lot of damage - have you seen those pictures up in Scotland, so sad to see all the beautiful gardens covered in white stuff.

Thank you Sticki it is good to know others like it too. I love my garden. I know most of us love gardening on here and it is always good to get feedback from others. thanks again for looking.

Yes yes yes just lovely, every garden should look like that.

Where we live sticki I have no neighbours to look over the garden fence and appreciate it all so it is good to speak on line and chatter away - the garden is my way of keeping fit and busy it is good though when others on here can see how much hard work has gone into a project and get lots of lovely comments. Thank you

Thank you Johnjoe so glad you like it. It has been a work in progress for many years now, they do take a lot of time up don't they getting them to how you want them. I seem to have a new project annually. lol. thanks for looking in.

Thank you Costas, yes it is, not today though, quite a chill out there and drizzling with rain at times, although at the moment the sun is trying to peep through the clouds.

It was just like that here yesterday! :) sigh!

no neighbours? wow thats fantastic! i have them on one side only and woods behind but we live on a busy road which i dont like.

3 Apr, 2012

we have a busy road but I tend to not notice it now, it is a dual carriageway and the only time I notice it is when the idiots rev up their cars and bikes and race down it. It does help that the house is at an angle to the road and there is a small field in between us and the dual carriageway. Also the very tall hawthorn hedge blocks out a lot of sound as it grows it leaves. It is strange, I have a friend who could not believe how little I noticed the road traffic, she thought I was kidding her. After saying that the road traffic is much busier than it used to be when we first came here 33 years ago. Our nearest neighbour is through the wood at the farm the wood is an 80 acre mainly oak trees, with some new plantation in patches now in and around it. Idyllic but very isolated when it snows, the lane up to the driveway gets blocked and it is about 100 metres long lots of hard work to dig it out when it is bad. So as you can imagine I do not need that to land on us here in North Lincolnshire. Hope you are staying warm and cosy in Worcestershire.

Just started here too :o( not too sorry really about the rain we do need it! My water butt is nearly dry but it need not snow! Off out now to get my eyebrows waxed lol so had better stop chattering on here and get myself ready for the torture treatment. lol.

That's a very peaceful and relaxing space you have created there, as well as being just beautiful. I can tell how much work goes into this but you clearly enjoy it and the results are there for all to see.
I do so enjoy looking at other folks' gardens! This site is a huge treasure house for gardening enthusiasts, isn't it?

I remember playing in that wood when we were kids Oliveoil, before the dual carriageway was built, I feel old now:-), remember it used to be full of bluebells, beautiful, remember going on a trip from primary school and taking a picnic too, really must be a idyllic place to live, always used to think your house looked like the cottage in Hansel and Gretels :-)
The gardens looking good, soo glad we're getting some rain at last, should make digging a bit easier.

we have had hail!!

thank you everyone, so glad you like the picture. Ojb it is lovely to look at other peoples gardens I love doing that.

Simbad I can remember when I was small where I lived be used to walk miles to the wood (well it seemed miles) with the brownie pack i belonged to and we would come back home with arms full of bluebells. Still has lots of bluebells in this wood.

Sticki - We have had a lot of rain judging by the big puddles on the path but have been out most of the afternoon so missed what it got up to.

Your garden is looking fantastic Olive I do hope you dont get the snow, we had it through the night and upto this afternoon, blizzards and very strong winds, it stopped around 2pm and all the snow has gone now amazing! so luckily not too much damage, just a couple of pots lown over and leaves an branches strewn about, but comparedto a couple of miles away we have been let off very lightly, So fingers crossed you get the rain you need but not the Snow and gales ;0)

Your garden looks so inviting. I can just picture myself having a Pimm's Cup and a nice chat with you of course over the garden. Or maybe a cup of tea. It seems to have everything but does not look cluttered. A real feat to achieve, Very nice!

Thank you Pansy and Wells, glad you like the garden, hope you are both enjoying yours too. Hope there is not too much damage Pansy we managed just to get rain and wind so not too much damage here at our end. Thank you Wells for your lovely comments.

What a fantastic view of your garden Oliveoil, it is stunning, well done you have worked hard. Are all the trees at the back of the photos part of your garden ?

8 Apr, 2012

Some are Lin, the Christmas tree and Monkey Puzzle tree and Silver Birches, but behind the drive and in the distance is an 80 acre wood,(mainly Oak) of course it borders the garden but is not ours as such, we walk the dogs in there. It can be very eerie at night, not many folks like it because it is so open but after 33 years I have grown accustomed to it all. I love living here. Thank you for enjoying the pictures.
