This is a terrific fig tree! I have one myself. This tree is growing in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on March 15, 2012.

I know they grow well up in the SF Bay Area. I have one in the ground here which up in the Bay Area survived the 1990 freeze outside (it froze to the caudex).

I have an old-OLD, Bonsai one. They up here are hardy...but dont seem to get the "Goldilocks" heat they need to grow large. Very slow,and easily get a mosaic like virus...comes and goes over the years.
